Product Improvements

Optrol Inc. continuously makes design improvements to its Etchant Control/Monitor Systems resulting in better performance and/or reliability. This page highlights some of the most recent improvements made to our products. Many of these enhancements were added without changing model numbers or pricing.

Mod. 120 Power Module

Mod. 120 Power Module (int. view) A) Resettable fuse in low voltage power supply to prevent damage if outputs are accidentally shorted

B) Line and Pump surge suppressers returned to Neutral instead of Ground to eliminate spurious GFI tripping

C) Neutral-Ground surge suppresser to keep Neutral transients within the low voltage transformer isolation capability

D) Improved terminal strip for easy and secure connections

E) Replenish on low density option for processes which consume solute

F) Dual relay option for feed-feed control

G) Standard 1/2" conduit hole with sealed power cord option for direct plug-in to standard receptacle

Control (All models)

A) Seamless rotomolded liner eliminates weld leaks

B) Molded-in dam eliminates dam seal leakage

C) Rear lid seal groove

D) Self-leveling, cast-in lid gaskets

E) Moisture break between wet and dry side lids

F) Easily aligned 4-Channel encoder
    (Model 130, 131, 140, 141 only)

  • Independent pump control channel directly controls pump switching for maximum reliability

  •  Pump control does not depend on display, alarming, data transfer, or any other Monitor function
  • Encoder self-resets at startup and every time the pump channel turns on
  • One encoder works with both Model 130/131 and Model 140/141

Model 136 Process Monitor

A) Large, backlit LCD display

B) User selected Specific Gravity or Baume display

C) Deviation from set point displayed in same units as density display

D) Date/time display and used in process event log

E) Strip chart display of last eight deviation data points

F) Instant replay controls to play back several months of process data to LCD display and also to serial port for computer analysis (US Pat. # 6,487,462)

G) Access from sealed front panel

H) Alarm inhibited during startup and drain down

I) Alarm tolerance user chosen

J) Sealed serial cable port on Monitor - no dangling cable when not in use

K) EPDM edge seal on seamless front panel

L) Internal corrosive vapor trap to capture any leakage before it can do damage

M) LCD display contrast adjustment for unusual extreme viewing angles
